Nintendo has reportedly issued a warning that the 3DS, its eagerly awaited glasses-free 3D portable gaming device, should not be used by children under 6 when the gadget is in 3D-viewing mode.According to PC World and other media outlets, an advisory posted on Nintendo's Japanese-language Web site says the eyes of children under 6 have not yet fully developed and that 3D viewing on the 3DS could disrupt that development. The company recommends that adults protect young players by way of parental controls on the 3DS that allow for the blocking of the 3D function while leaving 2D play accessible.

The statement reportedly also advises older players to take a break after 30 minutes of 3D viewing on the device--as opposed to a break after an hour of 2D play--and says players should discontinue 3D viewing if they begin to feel ill.In May, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata told the Associated Press that health concerns related to "children's eyesight" were a key factor in the decision to make a 2D mode available on the 3DS.

Nintendo first announced the gadget in March. It later said the 3DS would be made available in the U.S. and Europe in March 2011. The GameStop chain of stores announced yesterday that it is taking pre-orders on the potentially revolutionary device, which will be made available for scrutiny by the general public for the first time in January, at Nintendo World 2011 in Japan. PC World reports that children under 6 will not be allowed to use the device at that event.

The device, as we had told you earlier, would come with Pixel Qi’s 3qi display technology. Under hood would be NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chipset and the device will also have full Flash support.Though a final shipping date has not been revealed as yet, we guess a launch is in the offing. The quick succession of now coming through makes us believe so.

Lately Google took a break from its petty battles with Facebook and get back to some real business. The launch of the Nexus S is a rare thing in the current mobile climate in that it has actually got a jump start on Apple with some inventive near field communications hardware (NFC) which not only allows users to read smart objects like movie posters but also to send information back. The scary part is that the Samsung Galaxy Tab is a solid product and worthy competitor to the iPad, even besting it with features like front and back cameras--a feature you won't see until the iPad 2, most likely.

Low cost 3G notebook from samsung for indian consumers

Sometimes, you just want an inexpensive computer for Internet and gadgets use and basic office tasks. The Samsung N150 is a low performance netbook designed just for this purpose.
The Samsung N150 comes with an Atom N450 processor, a 10.1 inch screen, and enough connectivity to make it useful for everyday needs. As well as Ethernet LAN and Bluetooth, you also get Wireless 802.11 b/g/n and Verizon Wireless 3G GOBI 2000. This is all very impressive when you consider the price of this Samsung's internet and Gadgets netbook, which is only $331.
The 10.1 inch display on the Samsung N150 has a resolution of 1024 x 600, which is lower than the current standard of 1366 x 768. Viewing angles are OK however, and the colours are reasonable for such a budget machine. The included speakers have virtually no bass and little clarity, although they are loud enough for occasional use.
The keyboard on the Samsung N150 is comfortable, even if it is somewhat cramped. The touchpad is really small however, which makes in annoying for extended sessions. Performance wise, the Samsung N150 is certainly no powerhouse, although I don’t think anyone would expect it to be. It is Atom-based, and it functions accordingly.
Overall, the Samsung N150 is less than impressive in most regards. Its one shining light is its integration with the Verizon wireless network, which means you can access the Internet from practically anywhere.
